Our History

RealFlight “Classic” was released in 1997 featuring groundbreaking graphics, flight physics, and sound for an RC flight simulator, which included nine aircraft and five flying sites plus a custom controller. The following year RealFlight “Deluxe” was released which added helicopters and 3D terrain. RealFlight G2 was released in 1999, featuring a new simulator engine, more aircraft, and an updated controller. Then, starting in 2004, a new version of RealFlight including added features, functions, and content, was released every few years.

Horizon Hobby®, LLC purchased RealFlight in 2021 and launched RealFlight Evolution in 2022 which offers access to downloadable content (DLC), including new models and fields that are released quarterly for purchase à la carte, in money-saving content packs, or with yearly season passes.
